Before applying

  • Creating a personal account is required always when you apply for a KONE job opening for the first time. By creating an account, you are able to follow the status of your application and reuse your application form and files for another job application.

  • If you want to preview the questions of the application form, you can do this by clicking ”Preview” at the bottom of the first page of the form. You will be asked to include a resume/CV and a cover letter. It is very important that you send us both. You should have these ready before you start filling in the application form. You may attach documents (in .doc, .docx, .txt, .rtf .pdf format), paste or type into a text box.

  • If you have a LinkedIn profile, you can use that to automatically fill in certain details in the application form and complete the application process faster.

  • We are increasingly running searches on the open applications submitted to our database and encourage you to fill one in. However, best way to stand out from the crowd is to apply directly to the positions that you are interested in and suit your profile the best.

After applying

  • A confirmation email will be sent automatically to the email address you gave in your application form. Make sure to type in your email address correctly.

  • To follow the status of your application or to reuse your information in another application, you need to sign in to your account on the Apply now -page. Click “View My Account” and then “View Application Status”.

  • We retain personal data as long as the data is required for recruitment purposes or as required by applicable national legislation.

    If you submit an open application, i.e. you don’t apply for any specific job then KONE will retain your application for six months.

  • Yes, by signing into your account.

  • No, it is not possible. However your application details will be made anonymous automatically after certain period of time (in line with legal requirements in the country where the job is based in). If you want your application to be deleted, please contact

  • If you know your password: sign in, click the tab “View My Account” and then the link “Update Your Password”. If you have forgotten your password: Click on “Sign In” and then “I have forgotten my password” on the bottom right.

  • You can save a "Search Agent". This means that you save your search criteria and we will send you an email when job/-s matching your search is published. You can also subscribe to an RSS feed of the results. To do this, click the RSS -link below your search results.

When filling the application form

  • Your session will expire after 20 minutes of inactivity. If your session expires before completing the application, all progress will be lost. This means that you should click “Next” or “Previous” on the bottom of the form before you have spent 20 minutes on a page. The 20 minute expiration period will then start again. There is no maximum total time given for filling in the entire application. Note that you can return to previous pages using the “Previous” button.

  • Firefox 32, Internet Explorer 8 to 10 and Google Chrome 38.

    With Safari you might experience something called looping. This is caused by the browser not accepting multiple cookies or third party cookies. If this occurs, please set your browser to accept all cookies while applying or use other browsers like Firefox or Google Chrome.

  • Normally, you should use the same language as the job advertisement is written in. If you want to be considered internationally, send your application in English.

  • The cover letter and CV can be sent as .doc, .docx, .txt .rtf or .pdf. You may also include supporting documents, for which the following files formats are accepted: .doc - .docx, .xls - .xlsx, RTF, TXT, ZIP, Adobe PDF, JPEG, Bit Map, GIF, AVI and MP3. Please note that our HR personnel may run searches in our database. However, the search can only return results from documents attached in .doc, .docx, .txt .rtf or .pdf formats.

  • In addition to you cover letter and resume/CV, you can include five other documents.

  • Each file can be up to 7 168 KB in size.

  • Some elements may move slightly in the preview, but you should not worry about this, our HR personnel are able to download your original file.
